One of our workplace food pantries

Food pantries

We run a small food pantry for university students, and visit various other locations to support food supply. This means we can occasionally arrange for donations of packaged, in date, shelf stable groceries to be distributed to these pantries. We sometimes also provide grocery vouchers here.

If you’d like to provide some groceries for us to distribute among pantries please contact us here.

Daphne’s Library: Books for kids

Daphne loved her little mates and that’s why we’re happy that through Daphne’s Library, we’re connected with a number of people who provide books for children, primarily those in care situations. We are always happy to talk to you about how to pass on your kid’s books or ways to get vouchers and funds to these folks.

Please note, the books must be in good, clean condition and we are limited to what we are able to take. Please get in touch to chat.

Support March Cottage

There is no obligation for taking from what we share, other than thinking about small actions you can take in your own patches that help build and sustain community.

But, we are always on the hunt for garden materials, so if you do want to help us, here are a couple of suggestions:

  • Gardening supplies & building materials: We try to keep things sustainable here so we're happy to chat if you're having a clean out of gardening supplies and building materials. Things like plant pots, potting mix, nursery seedling trays are always appreciated

  • We also like materials such as clean, empty food cans and Milo tins (we'll also take your ring top can lids) so don't be afraid to check what we need right now.

  • Vouchers for Bunnings or local Tulmur (Ipswich) nurseries and landscape supplies are always appreciated but definitely not necessary.

Help us keep the front of March clean and clear for people passing by:

  • If Daphne's Library is full and you have books, please contact us rather than leaving books outside (We support some organisations that provide books to children in remote communities and care situations, so we may be able to facilitate donations even when the library is full),

  • Please don't leave anything (other than books in the library) without discussing with us first. The garden and life keeps us very busy so we can't accept unsolicited donations.

  • Pick up any litter you see while you're walking around. We've provided litter bags in case your dogs need them.
